metamatic:taf is excited to present the exhibition Battlefield Porn, which opens on Tuesday 6 May 2014 at 20.30 and will run until 25 May. This is the second exhibition organised by the group Battlefield and taking place at metamatic:taf after the exhibition Battlefield in 2010.

The exhibition Battlefield Porn detects the influence not so much of the erotic element but of the depiction of sex itself and the possible differences of sex from eroticism in the contemporary Greek artistic production, combining artworks by already established visual artists with works of the representatives of the younger creative generation.

Taking into consideration the fact that the theme of the exhibition Battlefield Porn presents opportunities to motivate discourses on various subjects of great concern to the modern society, a series of talks and discussions with the public will be organized during the exhibition by distinguished guest speakers on topics related to the exhibition, such as the different treatment of pornographic material in East and West, the censorship and the influence of monotheistic religions - Christianity, Islam and Judaism - on the depiction or non-depiction of the erotic element in the arts as well as in other forms of expression.
